• Milestone reached!

Milestone reached! I’ve finished writing Act 2 of my latest story. My goal is to finish the first draft by the end of the month.

Act 3 is exciting, action packed, and ridiculous, and I’m really looking forward to getting all these images in my head down into words.

It’s the home stretch! Watch me run (and promptly run out of breath).

    Love & light,

I did pretty good this week, and I’m definitely on target to reach and maybe even exceed my goal for NanoWriMo.

This week, I finished ManiProphy! I’m so excited, and I’m very happy with it. An earlier iteration already went through developmental editing, but I’m sending it for another round to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

New episodes come out every Wednesday and Sunday until it’s complete!

Another week, another few thousand words written. I’ve been focused on ManiProphy, and I’m getting so close to the end, it’s difficult to concentrate on anything else!

I’m also working on finishing up editing of Tale 3 of Tales of a Vernian Youth.

    How has your week been?

Wow, Magicians. This week was a whirlwind of words! I haven’t written this many weekly words in a very long time, and it felt good.

I’m so excited to be closing in on the ending to Manifestation of Prophecy. I never imagined when I wrote the first draft of this short story as a teenager that I would completely reimagine it into a novel-length story. I’ve fallen in love with the characters all over again, and I even teared up as I read back some of the scenes.

I had a chance to read back the original recently, and I’ll tell you what. Besides the character’s attitudes and high level plot points, it’s unrecognizable.

Are you enjoying ManiProphy? Who’s your favorite character?

The world feels a little more magical thanks to having you as a part of it, so thank you for being here!

    Love & light,

    Hey, Magicians!

If you’re viewing this in your email, don’t forget to go to the post to see the image and to share your thoughts!

Happy Friday. I’ve been working hard this week, and have done a fair bit of writing and editing. I wrote 4,091 words, and even though it isn’t listed in the image, all HQ support tiers got a new episode of A Little Bit of Chaos Theory this week!

You also got your usual ManiProphy fix with two new episodes.

As I began editing Tales of a Vernian Youth: Tale 3, I quickly realized it needed A LOT of work. Tales 1&2 were pretty quick and painless. Somehow, Tale 3 just wasn’t as strong, so I’ve been moving things around and heavily editing it.

Once the ebook is out, I’ll update it here on Ream. Nothing about the story itself has changed. Although a couple of scenes have been flopped, the changes I’ve been making are to improve the quality of the writing and bring it up to par with Tales 1, 2, & 4.

I’ve also been having a think about physical rewards. One of my favorite ideas so far are custom collectable marbles. We’re still working our way towards the $50 goal to start physical rewards, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. What kinds of goodies would you like to see?

    Love & light,

  • Weekly update

This week, I made progress in writing Tales of a Vernian Youth Tale 5 and in editing Tale 3. My editing goal is to finish by the end of the year, and I’m on track to meet that goal.

I’d like to get Tale 5 done as soon as possible, of course. I want to start updating soon. I typically don’t start publishing episodes until the entire tale is fully complete and edited.

But I’d like to hear from you! Would you be interested in reading Tale 5 as I write?

That could mean that large chunks may be heavily edited or even completely rewritten after you read it. But if y’all are interested in this, I can consider it.

Let me know in the comments!

    Love & light,

  • Celebrating small wins

I’ve been trying to make an effort lately to celebrate small wins. I’m very goal focused, but when those goals are lofty (like writing, editing, and publishing an entire novel), it helps to break it into smaller chunks.

In that spirit, today I’m celebrating hitting 30,000 words for Tales of a Vernian Youth Tale 5 and 60,000 words for Manifestation of Prophecy.

Both of these stories are going to be longer than I originally projected, but that’s because I’ve added elements that I think improve the story tremendously.

What crunching these numbers also showed me was that so far this year, I’ve written well over 100,000 words. I haven’t calculated the exact number, but that blows my mind.

    Thanks for being here!

  • ToVY Tale 5 Progress update

Making progress! I’ve finished Act 2 of Tale 5 of Tales of a Vernian Youth!

Once I’m done with the first draft, I’ll send the draft to a developmental editor to review. I’ll review her input and do any re-writing or editing necessary. And once that’s done, updates will begin. I do line editing as I post, so you won’t have to wait for that step.

This tale is already shaping up to be longer than I had planned, which is a bit frustrating for me, but hopefully good news to you!

I’m thinking of doing a few reveals for followers & supporters prior to updates starting. What would you like to see in the reveals? Cover art? The reality name & theme? Snippets? Maps?

Let me know in the comments!

    Stay Magical!

I’m happy to announce that Tales of a Vernian Youth Tale 2 editing is complete! I’m now working on the glossary, which will come in the form of the “Compendium Excerpt” that I committed to with Tale 1.

I got to a very good stopping point for ManiProphy, which gives me some buffer for now.

I’m refocusing on writing Tale 5 now, trying to get that done so I can send it out to my developmental editor.

    Lots to do!

    How are you this week?
