Tales of a Vernian Youth
Magicians, robots, and alternate realities. It’s an adventure too ridiculous to miss. Octavian is a graduate student at a top magic university. He wanted to change the world, but instead, he and his magic-powered robot, Replika, are ensnared in a web of alternate realities, which shouldn’t even be possible. To get home, they’ll need to learn why they were trapped and the secrets hidden in Replika’s design.
Prequel: The Teacher and the Lynchpin
When Teacher, a powerful Exalted Grand Magician, is told that his future lies at the small Belanee State University, he is skeptical, but when he learns that the divination has come from a powerful clairvoyant, he can’t ignore it.
Octavian, an undergraduate student in his final year at Belanee State University, can’t wait to meet a real Exalted Grand Magician. But every potential opportunity comes up short, leaving him sure that the best he can do is see the man from afar. So then why does it seem like Exalted Grand Teacher keeps showing up around him?
1 – The Magician and the Mechanical Doll
The adventure begins. Replika and Octavian are transported to a lab with no windows or doors.
2 – The Pirates and the Magic Computer
Replika and Octavian make it to Chronoford, a steampunk city carved from a seaside cliff. They make astounding discoveries while being chased by pirates.
3 – The Silence and the Rarity of Human Life
Replika and Octavian travel to a new reality where humans didn’t evolve in the same way. After losing the magic computer, they are captured by the indigenous — and eerily silent — people.
4 – The Robots and the Chrysanthemum
Replika and Octavian jump into a universe where humans are extinct and robots rule the world.
5 – The Essence and the Boundless Magic – Updates Thursdays
Step into a medieval reality of boundless magic with Octavian and Replika! They arrive in a cottage stuffed with Teacher’s notes, mysterious potions, and the usual mess. Turns out, Teacher had a friend, Scientist, who may know how to get them home. Unfortunately, their essence was fragmented across multiple realities when they tried to universe hop. One of those fragments is in this reality, but where?
Prepare for an adventure unlike anything our heroes have seen before. They’ll encounter a myriad of magical animals, some cute and cuddly while others can breathe fire! Although Octavian and Replika are ripped apart, they have a shared mission: snag the fragment of Scientist’s essence and get one more step closer to home. Yet, navigating through other people’s theatrics becomes an unavoidable detour.
Can Octavian keep his eye-rolling in check as Replika waltzes into one brawl after another? Grab your metaphorical magic wand and plunge into the absurdity of the next chapter in the Tales of a Vernian Youth series!
