The Grimoire: What’s up in Gaius Town?

I’ve got TWO announcements today, and I can’t wait to share them with you. But first!

What I’m working on daily?

I have three priorities right now. Is that too much? Probably. But that’s how it goes.

My first priority is editing. Right now, I’m editing Tales of a Vernian Youth preparing to release each Tale individually AND release Volume 1 (Tales 1-4) to retailers by the end of the year. I don’t know if I’ll make this goal, but I’m doing my best.

My other 2 priorities are writing ones.

I’m about a third of the way through writing Tales of a Vernian Youth Tale 5 (ToVY T5). In this tale, you can look forward to seeing Octavian and Replika have their own unique adventures and a whole different kind of magic than you’ve seen before in ToVY! I can’t wait to share this tale with you. As with the other tales, I will be serializing Tale 5 on Kindle Vella, Laterpress, and Ream. Once it’s complete, I’ll release Tale 5 direct only. Tale 5 will be included in Volume 2, which is currently planned to contain Tales 5-9.

Tale 4 is being released now with new episodes every Thursday!

But ToVY isn’t the only story I’m working on. I’m also continuing to work on Manifestation of Prophecy, which updates every Wednesday and Sunday. I’m 60% done with the writing, and this story is fleshing itself out SO nicely. I’m already hearing fans tell me they love Maliah and Jarith and can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m on track to finish releasing ManiProphy by the end of the year, which hopefully means I’ll get the ebook released in Q1 of 2024.

Life Updates

My neurologist has been working with my insurance to cover an infusion therapy that could help my pain levels. Unfortunately, the insurance refuses to cover it, even after our appeals. So we’re back to the drawing board.

Small fiber neuropathy is notoriously difficult to treat, and there are no options available to specifically treat it. However, some patients have seen benefits when taking a medication sometimes used for chronic pain. It’s, unfortunately, also not covered by insurance, so I’ll be paying out of pocket for it. I’m hoping to find a reasonably priced compounding pharmacy and get started soon.

It’s by no means a guarantee, but I’m doing my best to remain hopeful, despite the pain continuing to spread and increase in intensity.

In the face of this, I appreciate having an outlet to laugh. Writing stories with snark and humor is so therapeutic, and as an added bonus, I’ve got you here! Thanks for your support. ❤
